Formosa Petrochemical Corporation has announced a Force Majeure for its Olefins Division effective March 9, 2026, due to disruptions in naphtha supply caused by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The disruption in the Strait of Hormuz has delayed feedstock deliveries, forcing the company to operate its production facilities at minimum capacity. FPCC stated it will allocate available inventory and production output as fairly as possible while working to stabilize operations.
